Foster
Foster parents are critical to the success of our program at Red Leash Rescue. Since we have no centralized facilities (yet), we rely on foster families to provide dogs a home before they get adopted. Fostering is hard work, you are bridging the gap between the shelter or original home and their forever home. This means you will be helping your foster to feel safe and work through issues like potty training reinforcement. You will also be the one that helps determine the right fit in an adopter. As a foster, you give the dogs you care for a second chance at finding their forever family, you are the unbreakable link in the chain of successful adoptions, we need you!.

Volunteer
One of the ways you can get involved with Red Leash Rescue is by volunteering. We are in constant need for all types of volunteers. Volunteering with Red Leash Rescue can be an extremely rewarding opportunity to give back to the community as well as yourself. Volunteering also gives you chance to discover new skills you never knew you had and meet new and amazing people who share the same likes. Let us know how you can help- from transporting dogs to the vet, event help, leash training and grooming to fundraising, grant application and research. Once our Sanctuary is up and running volunteer opportunities will be expanded. So come aboard and help, we would love to have you!

Sanctuary
In 2015 Red Leash Rescue was founded to provide care for and rehome adult, senior and terminally ill dogs across Fairfield County. The next evolution of RLR is a Sanctuary - a multi purpose home-like setting providing terminally ill dogs and dogs bequeathed to RLR a place to live with medical care, resources, enrichment and of course love. It will also house adoptable dogs waiting for forever homes that do not have a foster home available to them. The Sanctuary will play an important role in community education and volunteer opportunities. Our goal is to begin the design phase by the end of 2022, and we need all the help we can get!
