There are multiple steps in the adoption process at Red Leash Rescue. We are committed to finding permanent, loving homes for all of our dogs. During the application process honesty and patience are key to ensuring that you and your prospective best friend are a good match.

In order to be approved for adoption, you must be at least 21 years of age.

First, you must fill out our non-binding adoption application and submit it via our online form. If you are unable to access the online application, please contact us and we will provide one by fax or mail. Once received, you will be contacted within 48 hours by one of our volunteers and we will review your application and the adoption process with you.

If your application is approved, we will arrange a meet-up so our rescue can interview you and your family. It’s important that all members of your family (two- and four-legged) be present unless prior arrangements have been made in advance..

Adoptions are not granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Our adult and seniors are matched with people and families that meet their needs best.

If you are interested in adopting but do not find a match with one of our available dogs, you may submit an application and we will notify you if a possible match becomes available. Red Leash Rescue is committed to placing all available dogs into permanent homes. If we know of a possible match currently being sheltered elsewhere, we will do our best to connect you with that dog.
